
The early name of the school was “Kornesan Saiva Prakasa Vidyalayam” because the 2inauguration ceremony was held on the coronation day of King fifth George. It was called “Magudapisheka Saivaprakasa Vidyalayam” in Tamil. The foundation stone for this school was laid on 17.01.1911 by Mr.Ramanathan Arulambalam. K. Y. Devanayagam, Periya Kathirkamathambi Podiyar, Chinna Kathirkamathambi Podiyar, Kostapar Thambapillai, K. Ilayathambi, K. Chinnathambi, V. Ganapathipillai are notable among those who gave financial assistance for the construction of this school. Mr.Ilayathambi was donated the lands for the school.
The charter for the school was inaugurated on 29.11.1913. At the opening ceremony, G.A. Venaddurai, who was to become an Englishman, K.Vad, a Dutchman who was the concert registrar, and Appukami Ammaiyar, the School Inspector, were present. Mr. Solomon took charge as the first Head Master (Principal) of this school. Mr.Arunachala thesikar, Mr.K.Sinnathtambi, and Iyampillai were joined as Assistant teachers. K.V.Markandu Muthaliyar assisted as a manager and T.Sinnathambi assisted as local manager. Then Mr.Eramalingam (Jaffna) was charged as head master. The school was handed over to Swami Vipulanandar on 1925.08.07.
